Cats
Our cattery has recently undergone upgrades in order to comply with the latest licencing requirements.
All of our visiting cats have their own duplex hideaways with plenty of toys for those that like them. Our cat pens are large enough to accommodate 2 cats in each. Upstairs is a comfy bed (yours or ours – you choose) with closable doors for those cats that prefer a bit more privacy. On the lower level is plenty of space for food and water bowls, a scratch post or other enrichment toy as preferred and a litter tray.
All of our cat pens have the benefit of a window view and this allows natural light through as well.
A Kitty Day at Tarbay
7am – Our feline friends are woken up bright and early at 7am with some cuddles and attention from the staff.
7:10 am – We clean out their pens by getting rid of any messes made overnight and ‘paw’ out some fresh water and litter; we use wood chip based odour free litter trays in their downstairs private suites. Their private sleeping balcony is checked for any mess, dirty bedding is removed and new clean cosy bedding is added. Overnight bowls are removed prior to feeding time. While each pen is being individually cleaned, cats are let out to stretch their legs within the cattery, (we never mix cats from different pens).
8am – It is breakfast time! Cats are notoriously exacting eaters so we usually serve a choice of hypoallergenic dry food and in a separate bowl some wet chunks of Felix or Whiskers. We have a wide and varied menu, however we suggest if your cat is particularly fastidious or requires a special menu on medical grounds then perhaps bring their own food along.
9am – 12pm – We let the cats have some time to themselves so they can have a nap and do their business otherwise they can get a cattitude! Any cats that require a little more food will be given their tasty snack at lunch time.
1pm – 3pm – During this time we give our furries some tasty delicious treats and have some playtime where we will let our furry friends out (one at a time!) to stretch their legs and roam around the cattery. We have a wide selection of toys for them to chase after and we will get some beautiful pictures and videos to send to their families.
4pm – Dinner is served!
4:30pm – 7:30pm – We give our furries some time to themselves for their food to settle and to either have a well needed cosy nap or time to play with their friend in the same pen (only if cats come from the same household).
7:30pm – Final cuddles for the night and we make sure our guests are snuggly and warm in their suite with a ‘dreamies’ treat. We check and top up any water bowls if needed and clean up any messes made throughout the day.
